HAIR REGENERATION

Hair Regeneration: Introduction

Also called alopecia, hair loss occurs when the body’s hair production cycle is interrupted. It can occur on the scalp or anywhere on your body. On average, 100,000 hairs on the scalp go through a process of growth, rest, fall out, and regeneration. Put simply, the natural cycle of hair growth has three phases:

Anagen

This is the first phase, where the hair continues to grow actively and for years.

This second phase is when the hair stops growing and separates from the follicle. It lasts for nearly 10 days.

The third or last phase is the follicle resting phase. The hair follicle rests for 2 to 3 months and then falls out.

Losing 50 to nearly 100 hairs daily is natural and normal. However, it becomes a problem when the natural cycle is interrupted, and hair begins to fall out faster than it can regenerate.
